These Terms govern the use of the Cynthia app and the cynthia.app website, operated by Volke Ideias Digitais Ltda. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these Terms and to the Privacy Policy.

2. What Cynthia is
Cynthia is a horoscope, astrology and tarot app presented by a character: the Moon, who speaks in the first person. The character is written and run by Volke using artificial intelligence. She says so herself in the first minute, and we say it again here.
The app offers:
- a daily card for your sign, seasoned with your own chart, at the hour you pick;
- the tarot card of the day, the zodiac ranking, the Moon's phase and sky over your town, the color and number of the day;
- your basic birth chart (Sun, Moon and rising sign) and the full chart you can explore;
- a mood check-in and a private astral journal;
- paid one-off readings: tarot, full birth chart as a PDF, synastry and solar return;
- the club, a subscription with a daily premium card and the deck of the month;
- tarot decks, both our own and public domain;
- widgets, notifications and emails you choose to receive;
- gifts: readings bought for someone else and delivered by link.
The daily horoscope, the card of the day and the ranking are free and will stay free.
3. Entertainment, not advice
Everything Cynthia says is entertainment. Astrology and tarot do not predict the future and do not diagnose anything. Readings are no substitute for a doctor, therapist, lawyer, accountant or any other professional, and should not be the basis for decisions about health, money, relationships or safety.
The content is generated by artificial intelligence from astronomical data, the house's editorial rules and what you tell us. It may contain errors, inaccuracies or generalizations. The app's own rule applies to these Terms too: the card lights the room; you decide.
The app and support are not emergency services.
4. Minimum age
Cynthia is for people aged 18 and over. The app asks for your date of birth before creating an account and turns minors away without storing the data. If we find an account belonging to a minor, we close it and delete the data.
5. Account
You need an account to use the app. It is created with Apple, Google or a link sent to your email. There is no password.
You agree to:
- use true birth data: the chart and the readings depend on it;
- keep one account, your own, and not share it;
- protect access to the email and the Apple and Google accounts used to sign in.
You can correct your birth data in the app; the chart recalculates on the spot. Readings you already bought are not redone.
6. Your content
Your journal, your notes, your tarot questions, your check-ins and the people you add are yours. Volke acquires no rights over them. You authorize us only to store and process them to provide the service: chart your sky, generate your readings, show your history and deliver what you asked for.
The readings, cards and PDFs delivered to you may be read, kept, exported and shared by you for personal use. You may not resell them, offer them as a service to others or present them as your own creation.
You can delete any item from your collection, and delete the whole account, at any time.
7. People
The app lets you add other people (name, relationship and birth data) to generate synastries and gift readings. When you do, you declare that you have the right to use that data and that the person is 18 or older. The app refuses entries for minors.
A Person's data serves one purpose only: generating content for you, in the form of a gift or a reading for two. Nothing about the Person is published or shown to anyone else. You can delete a Person whenever you want, and anyone who was added can ask support to remove them.
8. Purchases
Readings, decks and the club are sold through the App Store or Google Play. The store processes the payment, shows price and currency, issues the receipt and applies your consumer rights. Volke never receives or stores card data.
Kinds of purchase:
- readings (Yes or No, 3 cards, love tarot, synastry, full birth chart PDF, solar return, year ahead): each purchase generates a new reading, delivered to your account;
- decks: one-time purchase, restorable on the same store account;
- the club: monthly or yearly subscription, renewing automatically.
Whatever was delivered is yours: it stays on your account, can be reread, downloaded and exported at any time, and comes back on any device you sign in to. Delivery happens on the account, not on the device.
If a reading fails after you were charged, you don't get stuck with the charge: the app starts the refund request through the store.
9. The club
The club renews by itself at the end of each period until you cancel. Cancellation happens on the store's subscription screen; the app has a shortcut that takes you straight there. Once you cancel, access continues until the end of the period already paid for.
The deck of the month delivered to you during the subscription stays yours after it ends. The premium card is generated when you open the app; a day you don't open it does not generate a card after the fact.
A price increase for the club never reaches current subscribers: it applies only to new subscriptions. Before a yearly renewal, we let you know in advance.
10. Refunds
The store, which owns the payment, is the one that gives money back, under its rules and the law. Volke does not contest a refund requested from the store; support helps anyone who needs it.
Repeated refunds are treated as abuse: three refunds within six months block new purchases on the account and device, whether the reading was consumed or not. A technical failure on our side never counts. The block does not touch what is free, nor what was already bought and not refunded.
11. Gifts
Whoever gives a gift buys the reading on their own account and receives a link to send. Whoever receives it opens the link in the app, installing it if needed, and the reading goes into the recipient's library, dedication included.
The content of the reading belongs to the recipient alone: the giver only sees that they gave it. The link can be reissued as long as the gift has not been opened. A refund of the purchase revokes the gift before delivery; once delivered, the reading stays with the recipient.
12. Sharing
Cards that leave the app carry the signature "— Cynthia · cynthia.app". You may share them wherever you like, for personal use. You alone decide what goes out: nothing from your journal or your readings is ever published by Volke.
13. What is not allowed
- creating more than one account, or an account for someone else;
- entering other people's data without the right to do so;
- circumventing security, usage limits or purchase controls;
- automating use, scraping content or using the app to train third-party systems;
- reverse engineering beyond what the law permits;
- using the app to harass, threaten or harm anyone.
Volke may suspend or close accounts that violate these Terms or the law. Before a final closure, we offer an export of what is yours, unless the law prevents it.
14. Volke's property
The Cynthia name and mark, the character, the texts, the design, the code, the editorial rules and the art of our own decks belong to Volke or its licensors. These Terms do not transfer those rights.
The Rider-Waite-Smith (1909) and Tarot de Marseille decks are public domain works and remain so.
15. Availability
The app depends on third parties: the App Store and Google Play, Apple, Google, cloud and artificial intelligence providers, notification and email services. We may fix, update, suspend or remove features, respecting your rights and the purchases you already made. We do not guarantee uninterrupted operation.
If the app ever shuts down, we will let you know in advance and keep the export working until the last day.
16. Liability
To the extent the law allows, Volke is not liable for:
- decisions made on the basis of the app's content;
- misuse of your account by someone who obtained your access;
- other people's data you entered without the right to;
- unavailability of, or changes to, third-party services.
Nothing in these Terms excludes rights that consumer law does not allow you to waive, including under the law of the place where you live.
17. Privacy
How we handle data is explained in the Privacy Policy. In case of conflict about data, the Policy prevails.
18. Changes
These Terms may change to keep up with the product, our providers, the stores or the law. Changes never reduce your rights over what you already bought. The current version and its date live on this page; a relevant change is announced in the app or by email.
19. Law and venue
Brazilian law applies, without setting aside mandatory rules of your country of residence. In Brazil, the consumer's home venue and the rights under the Consumer Defense Code are preserved.
